I stopped by here a while back to get some custom bolts and had a quite the experience. I normally buy my hardware elsewhere but due to close proximity decided to give them a try. Got about 100 bolts and the cashier asked me if I have a business/wholesale account and I replied no but they are ultimately for resale, hoping the discount would be applied, but if not, then no big deal. Further I explained that I have a little online gigg going and take electronic payments for my products and get a 1099k at the end of the year from a third party payment processor. As if nowadays in 2024 someone can take online payments and not do taxes...good luck.

The individual who I believe was the owner, stepped into the conversation and started lecturing me in an insinuating tone and schooling me on a personal level how I should do and pay my taxes. I should open LLC, have a resale license....on and on.
Here's my advice for you buddy, learn some social cues regarding boundaries and how far you can stick your nose into someone's business. If you want to give a discount, then do it, if not, then no problem. Otherwise don't worry we pay our share of taxes, save your "business knowledge" for yourself and actually expand, you've been stuck at that same crack-in-the-wall place forever.
